The handbook consists of two parts: "The Reading Book" and "The Workbook". "The Reading Book is a collection of texts different in character and content, mostly adapted stories by Russian writers and fairy tales. The texts contain a lot of dialogue, which allows students to get acquainted with the peculiarities of conversational speech.
"The reading book is divided into lessons, each lesson includes one text. The subheading of the lesson indicates the grammar that is recommended to be learned or repeated before reading the text. The grammar topics of the textbook correspond to the Russian curriculum for the 2nd semester of the first year. Thus, the textbook helps students prepare for the Russian language exam in the scope of the State Standard of the 1st certification level.
The workbook is designed for practicing the grammar material of each lesson mainly on the lexical material of the lesson text.
This workbook is addressed to students who are familiar with Russian language in the basic course.
