The book offered to the reader contains information about the structure and functions of the horse's limbs, as well as horse forging. The book includes two parts. The first part presents a detailed anatomical and physiological description of the horse's leg, with special attention to the structure of the hoof; the functions of the fore and hind limbs and their various parts are discussed. The second part of the book comprises the doctrine of forging. Various methods of forging are given, the preparation of the hoof for forging is described, and the rules of care for shod and unshod hooves are outlined. The forging of diseased hooves is discussed in detail. In addition, the forging of mules, donkeys and cattle is briefly described. The book contains many illustrations.
Written more than a hundred years ago (the first Russian edition was published in 1893), the book will still be useful to specialists in horse breeding and horse breeding, zoologists, zootechnicians, veterinarians.
